BIO:
Coach Wes Hodges is a graduate of Lexington High School (Lexington, Alabama) where he participated in football, basketball and track at the Varsity level. Wes has over 36 years of experience working primarily in the field of Radiation Safety and Environmental Remediation. Wes has had a passion for fitness since High School and was a distance runner and Triathlete for many years. He realized that he had neglected strength training through his years of running and decided to try CrossFit. Wes participated in CrossFit training for 8 years. After suffering a lower back injury, he started rehabbing with Coach Matt Starks. Coach Starks performed a thorough assessment and identified numerous strength and mobility weaknesses and designed a strength and conditioning plan specific to his needs. Wes worked one on one with Coach Starks, setting personal strength records in bench press, squats and deadlift. He started participating in and eventually leading the Adult Group Classes. Working with Coach Starks rekindled Wes's fitness passion, and he received his Personal Trainer Certification with Specialties in Strength and Conditioning and Senior Fitness.
As Wes reaches his 60th decade, he believes that strength training is the nearest thing to the fountain of youth that we have as we age. "It's never too late to start training".
