BIO:
Jake Beggs is a native of Paducah, KY, graduating from Heath High School.  His interest in strength training started back in middle school when he started lifting weights after he discovered bodybuilding and strongman competitions.  Although he never formally played high school or college sports, he has always had an interest in how to optimally improve athlete performance, coaching athletes in bodybuilding, strength sports, high school and college athletes, and the general population.  Over the years, Jake has competed in multiple bodybuilding competitions, strength events, and obstacle course races.  He attended the University of Kentucky, majoring in Exercise Science and working in a Human Performance lab where he helped assist in research on injury recovery and developed and implemented exercise protocols for aging athletes.  After undergrad, he then completed a Master of Public Health degree at UK with an emphasis on Preventive Medicine.  Finally, he completed a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  He currently splits time as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery/Sports Medicine as well as working in hormone optimization and weight loss medicine.  His primary coaching interest at Starks Sports Training is working with athletes overcoming injuries to get them safely back in the gym and onto the field.  He also enjoys helping with mobility, recovery, and sports nutrition.
